Sharing My Thoughts

Hi all, it's very seldom of me to post twice this week. But I am very concerned...

I've been reading online news, watching tv news... there has been lots of or maybe tonnes of BAD news everywhere ever since the "sub-prime" issues, political instabilities in Asean etc...

Everywhere is in economy recessions... even in Singapore! Can you imagine? None is spared! (But I guess the richer ones bear the crunch most)

I've never read so much bad news at straits time online news today 10/10/08. Almost 99% on gobal financial situations and 1% on political situations in Siam.

BUT I am reminded of this passage taken from the bible... My good friend from my previous organisation shared this with us.

Isaiah 6:1-8 (New International Version)

Isaiah's Commission
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.
3 And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."
4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."
6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
7 With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken way and your sin atoned for."
8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Allow me to share my thoughts or maybe share my sermon outlines.

-In the year that King Uzziah died...
When a King or a ruler died, you would tend to see the nation in some forms of turmoil.
(Eg: Read about Mrs Butto? Parkistian's favour people leader? She was assasinated. The entire nation was in chaos)
Same as this financial recession... gobal stocks exchange experiencing indexes going for a southward plung! Experts said it was a worse hit in 1990s.

-I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Isaiah saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Isn't that AWESOME! What a contrast.
Isaiah changes the natural into a supernatural. 2D into 3D perspective.
It's like looking at a 2D picture then SUDDENLY you can look beyond the 2D...
God is in control of everything!

Application:
1. Look to God
What situation are you in right now? Can you see God's purpose in your situation? Is it a gloom & doom situation? or can you still see that God is in control & He's high and exalted in your situation?

2. Login to God
When was the last time you prayed? When was the last time you "log into God". I admit that I my prayer life is not very fantastic but I am working on it. How about you?
We always go online & login to our facebook, our email account BUt we must not neglect our spiritual login line.

3. Love others to God without string attached
During this recession, you might see some retrenchments, jobless, or the stressed-out people or you see friends around you in some tough time. Are you able to share what you have with others? Are you able to share God's love larvished on you to others? (I am not talking about sharing the gospel) So that people around you can experience God's love in a practical way?
Can you meet a felt need?

Nothing is insignificant when you begin to share or when you meet one's need.

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

God is still in control!
